Where youth tell their stories — and change their world through comedy
SALT ED Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth to become accountable, socially responsible leaders. We believe in the power of experiential learning, creative storytelling, and community collaboration to inspire personal growth and drive meaningful impact.
Our team is committed to nurturing young minds through programs that integrate emotional intelligence, cognitive development, and real-world problem-solving.
Our mission is to empower youth to become confident, socially responsible leaders. Through experiential learning, creative storytelling, and community collaboration, we help young people develop emotional intelligence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and create meaningful change in their schools and communities.
We use humor and media projects to help students express themselves and tackle real-life challenges in positive ways.
We guide youth to build confidence, accountability, and social responsibility through hands-on experiences.
We create safe spaces where students learn emotional intelligence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.
We connect schools, families, and organizations to work together for equity and meaningful impact.
Reel Funny is more than a program. It is a movement that uses the power of laughter to create lasting change. Through interactive workshops and creative media projects, students learn to approach conflict with humor, strengthen their mental health, and build emotional resilience. Designed for under-resourced schools, Reel Funny bridges the gap between education, health, and community by turning difficult conversations into opportunities for growth, connection, and joy.
SALT 12 is a unique short film festival that showcases the voices of junior high and high school students who have completed our Reel Funny program. Through comedy and storytelling, these young filmmakers explore conflict resolution, mental health, and community building in powerful and entertaining ways. This event is more than a showcase. It is a celebration of youth leadership and the impact creativity can have on shaping a better future.
